this is a traditional roti place... you feel like you are in the Carribean after you eat a roti from this little haven in Stoke Newington! Try the beef or chicken roti!! Amazing!!!

I'm at a loss to where people say the owner is super friendly. Huh?! They obviously have no idea on the definition of the word bc the cook/manager/owner behind the counter when I walked in Saturday afternoon was definitely not all smiles. More gruff. Anyway got for takeaway the pumpkin and channa side which was quite good; heft veg portion with a decent curry base. The doubles though was way more delicious, full of curried channa and flavour. I would gladly get that again.

Delightful trini food and friendly staff. The doubles were not the best I have had, but I recommend the roti and bun with Calalloo. I'll definitely be back

Roti stop is a small little takeaway Caribbean shop, which is few minutes from Stoke Newington train station. Inside of the shop is the fridge with drinks in it. They also have fliers (clubs, events etc) on the right side of the shop and a few posters on their windows for your knowledge.
They have a counter the minute you get in and you see some of the food displayed, with the menu displayed on top. Food prices seem to range from £10 to £1.
Well I ordered a plantain stick. For anyone who does not know what a plantain is, its a big green banana which later turns yellow. They sell plantain in ethnic food shops.
Plantain stick is fried plantain pieces on a long cocktail stick. It only cost a £1 and was divine in taste and was ripe and moist with the right sweetness. Excellent! They will ask you if you want it heated up, say yes! it good as a cold snack as well, but divine when warm.
Well when I'm in stokie again Roti stop will defiantly be a stop for me. -

So good. You should show up early or phone in if you want to get first pick. I wanted to try the ackee and saltfish roti, but it was sold out by the time I arrived. I settled on a pumpkin and lamb roti instead.... and I was not disappointed. Bursting with flavor and spice, it truly was a treat. I also got a fried plantain which is the perfect accompaniment to the spicy roti.
It is right off the Stoke Newington rail station so it's easily accessible to all.
